Firefighters step up to challenge

SIGNIFICANT: The Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb not only raises funds and awareness for mental health issues in emergency services and the defence force, but also commemorates the sacrifice 343 firefighters made during the September 11 attacks 18 years ago. Compton CFS members Renee Ackerley and Corey Crafter were two of the 600 who took part in the event, each honouring the memory of a fallen firefighter during the climb. Mr Crafter also had a helmet painted in memory of those who were lost.
