ANOTHER Nangwarry property was completely destroyed by fire on Friday, however it not believed arsonists were responsible.

Country Fire Service (CFS) crews were called to McIntosh Street at around 12.40pm after receiving reports of a house on fire.

A person had called authorities stating they could see flames and smoke coming from the roof of the building.

A woman broke into the house and rescued a dog that was inside before it was fully engulfed by the flames.

Seven crews from the CFS responded and when they arrived they found the house fully alight.

A CFS spokesperson said the crews began extinguishing the fire and were able to save three vehicles and neighbouring properties.

“The house was completely destroyed by the fire,” a CFS spokesperson said.

“Fire cause investigators attended the scene to determine the cause of the fire with damages estimated to be approximately $170,000.”

Limestone Coast Police officer in charge Superintendent Phil Hoff said they were not investigating arson as a potential cause.

“It appears the fire started somewhere near the fireplace and there are no grounds for suspicion,” he said.

It is the first fire in the town of Nangwarry since the local football clubrooms were destroyed by arsonists in early January.

The fire is the 11th in Nangwarry in the last three years and 21st blaze since 2008.
