Des Noll With Waste Calendar TBW Newsgroup
BIN A LONG TIME COMING: Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll and deputy Moira Neagle back the latest waste initiative which is three-year recycling calendar.

Millicent and district residents have started to receive their new kerbside collection calendars in the post but with a new twist.

The new calendars cover the next three years, with tear off pages so the current year will always be on top.

“We are working towards a more sustainable future and this initiative will reduce printing by a third,” Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll said.

“This is a much better approach for the environment and is also a cost saving for council.”

The new calendars also provide information about which items should be placed in each bin.

“People may have seen the recent ads featuring Vin and the Which Bin campaign,” Mr Noll said.

“We are following up on that increased awareness by providing a handy reference guide that can stay on the fridge for the next few years.”

The new calendars are one of a number of waste initiatives planned by the council over the coming year.

Other projects will include a recycling wall at a local school, a refresh of the kitchen caddy program and targeted campaigns to increase community awareness about common mistakes in recycling.

Calendars will be delivered in the coming weeks.
