Millicent Domain area gets revamp grant

COUNCIL MASTERPLAN: Wattle Range Mayor Peter Gandolfi is encouraging members of the public to view council's ambitious $2.1m Millicent Parklands and Civic Precinct (Domain) Plan.

WATTLE Range Council has received a $267,000 from the State Government to develop the Millicent Domain area.

The area is one of three sporting and recreational facilities across Millicent and district to share in more than $500,000 of government grants.

McLaughlin Park Sports Incorporated has been given a $108,000 grant to upgrade the flood lighting at the main football oval at Millicent.

The venue last hosted night-games around 15 years ago.

The Kalangadoo War Memorial Park and Community Sports Club has been awarded $153,000 to construct a new unisex change room facility including umpires and parenting change rooms at the Kalangadoo Oval.

Like McLaughlin Park, Wattle Range Council and the Federal Government has committed significant funds to the complex in recent times.

The State Government has joined the two other tiers of government in making a further $267,000 available to further develop The Domain area of Millicent.

The three funding decisions were announced on Friday night by MacKillop MP Nick McBride when he addressed a gathering of 150 at the opening of the annual Wattle Range Council Photographic Exhibition in the Millicent Gallery.
