DESPITE having less than 24 hours to piece together an outfit, Brianna Scanlon’s race style was still on the money when she graced the green at Penola on the weekend.

The Millicent business owner is no stranger when it comes to Fashions at the Races events having won a number of sashes since she first competed at the Millicent Cup over five years ago.

She added to her collection at Sunday’s Katnook Penola Cup when she was presented with the prize for “best millinery” with a Melissa Gaye Designs piece she purchased three years ago.

Brianna said her mother, Mandy, decided she wanted to go to the races the night before, which gave her little time to organise an outfit.

“I decided to wear an outfit I had worn previously to the Mount Gambier Gold Cup,” she said.

“I am a bit of a hoarder, but it is worth it when it comes to millinery and race wear.

“In the end it was definitely a great trip on Easter Sunday for both mum and I.”

Mandy was also a winner at the races after she was crowned Local Lady of the Day, wearing a headpiece Brianna had worn to the Millicent Cup four years ago.
