THOUSANDS of dollars has been put back into Millicent and surrounds through a fundraising program, which supports local groups, organisations and projects.

Spearheaded by South East Property Sales Management business owner Fiona Telfer, the Community Funnel involves various fundraising events during the year with 100pc of the proceeds used in the community.

Over $5000 has been donated since the inception of the funnel and has helped a variety of groups and projects including the Beachport Lifesaving Club, McArthur Park Kindergarten’s sand pit upgrade, Millicent’s nature play development planning and the defibrillator at the swimming lake.

Other beneficiaries include the Gladys Smith Early Learning Centre, Furner speed shear event, St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School, Millicent Community Learning Centre, the Combined Churches Christmas Appeal, Sheoak Lodge and the Geltwood Festival’s model railway display and jumping castle for the market and family fun day.

Ms Telfer said the business would love to hear from anyone involved in a community group, organisation or idea that may need help.

“We are always on the lookout for where we can help and be a part of great ideas, assisting either financially or in kind support through our funnel,” she said.

“The chosen projects we donate to or offer assistance to must be approved and follow the concept of being something that will be for the betterment of the wider community.”
Applications for funding forms are available from the front office counter.
