Teen to ‘lose locks’

BRAVE SHAVE: High school student Bianca will take the plunge this weekend and shave her head as part of the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave event.

A BRAVE Mount Gambier teenager will lose her locks at Mount Gambier Marketplace tomorrow to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World Greatest Shave.

Secondary school student Bianca has committed to shaving her tresses in a bid to “shave the world from blood cancer”.

“I think I am a caring person and it is sad for me to think about the innocent kids going through such a tough time in their young life,” she said.

“It is not a big thing to do, but I hope I can raise enough money to make a difference in somebody’s life.”

The 16 year old will lose her locks at Hairhouse Warehouse tomorrow from 2pm to 4pm.

Hairdressers will be on hand to shave heads and apply colour spray for others who are interested in being involved, with all proceeds going to the Leukaemia Foundation.

Community members are encouraged to attend the event.
