Thousands expected to flock to annual Lucindale event

FULL THROTTLE: The Can Am Addicted To Mud team will add a high-octane element to the 41st annual South East Field Days.

THE annual South East Field Days will start tomorrow with thousands expected to flock to Lucindale for what has become South Australia’s largest annual event of its kind.

With just under 600 stalls listed for the weekend, South East Field Days secretary Lyn Crosby said everything was falling into place for the experienced committee.

Now in it’s 41st year, the field days will host a handful of exciting main events including the Telstra Code Club, racing and diving pigs and the Super Tank Fishing show.

Several shows from the South East Axeman will also be spread across the event.

Attendees can have their hearing checked for free at the Wimmera Hearing Society van, as well as free skin checks at the Lion’s Skin Cancer Screening van.

Blood sugar levels and blood pressure tests will be available during the field days at the ambulance site.

With a previous average of 22,000 attendees, Ms Crosby is confident this year will be no different despite the amount of stalls being slightly down on previous years.

“We will have a great variety of food and drinks, entertainment, information and events for the whole family at Yakka Park, a wonderful accomodation for the event,” Ms Crosby said.

Unlike previous years, this year will be a strictly no dogs event due to Occupational Health and Safety reasons.

Gates open at 8am with entry by cash only.

Adult tickets are $15 each with children entering free.

EFTPOS will be available at stalls.
