Beachport residents to clean up

MANY members of the Beachport community have been keen participants in the annual Clean-Up Australia Day over many years and the 2019 event on Sunday is set to be no exception.

The Beachport District Development Association has again registered Beachport as a site.

The clean-up starts at 10am at the Beachport Lagoon Centennial Park in Somerville Street.

Going on past years, it is hoped dozens of volunteers will cover the many streets, parks and beach areas.

A barbecue will be held at the end of the clean-up at noon as a thank you gesture to all participants for their efforts.

The Friends of Canunda/Beachport Parks together with Department of Environment and Water staff, have cleaned up Geltwood Beach for several years now and will do so in 2019.

The Millicent Girl Guides were scheduled to be on cleaning up duties for an hour at Southend yesterday evening.
