The Christian churches of Millicent are arranging four breakfast gatherings for men during the calendar year.

The informal breakfasts attract participants from various denominations.

Millicent resident Phillip Golley was one member who spoke of his journey in the Christian faith.

Originally from the United Kingdom, the title of his talk was Men of Place, Prayer and Purpose.

The talk was “absolutely brilliant” according to meeting attendee Graham Loveday.

“It opened my eyes to how a young person can make a difference to the lives of others in the world,” Mr Loveday said.

For Phil Golding, the message also rang true.

“It was affirming that our stories of our lives with each other leads to greater understanding of how relationships and love are best revealed,” Mr Golding said.

Peter Dunn said Mr Golley had delivered a strong message which was affirming of the Christian faith.

“He made it personal as he explained how his encounters with others had played a role in his faith.”

The Millicent Catholic Church will stage the second breakfast for 2019 in May.

The social and spiritual occasions are an initiative of the Millicent Ministers Association.
