Wage theft investigation

WORKERS affected by wage theft can have their stories heard by making a submission to a Parliamentary investigation into the extent of underpayment in South Australia.

The inquiry will explore all forms of wage theft including illegal deductions, failure to pay entitlements, cash-in-hand payback arrangements and non-payment of wages or superannuation benefits.

Local workers, employers, community organisations and industry representatives have already started making submissions to the Parliamentary Select Committee into Wage Theft in South Australia.

Recommendations will be made to develop regulatory frameworks for combating wage theft, ensuring justice for workers once the inquiry is complete.

The committee plans to visit rural areas throughout the inquiry to ensure all voices are heard.
