Millicent Hospital Planning Group to meet

FIRST GATHERING: Among those who attended the first meeting of the newly-established Millicent Hospital Planning Group were Lyn Sinel, Jenn Syme, Ngaire Buchanan, Andrew Birtwhistle-Smith, Michelle de Wit, Glenn Brown, Angela Miller, John Andre AM, Des Noll OAM and Paul Bullen.

THE second meeting of the newly-established Millicent Hospital Planning Group will be held at the health facility tonight.

Its 15 members will spend up to nine months working on a new service plan for Millicent.

The group will engage with service providers and the community throughout this process.

Members will examine population statistics and service usage and consult with local clinicians.

It is chaired by Michelle de Wit who is the hospital’s executive officer and director of nursing.

The other representatives are Millicent Health Advisory Council presiding member Jenn Syme, Medical Clinic Millicent partner and GP representative Dr James Bushell, Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll OAM and deputy mayor Glenn Brown, Millicent and Surrounds Health Advisory Group chairman John Andre AM, Country Health Connect representative Lyn Sinel and SA Ambulance Service regional operations manager Andrew Thomas.

There are eight other Country Health SA employees who are group members.

They include regional director of nursing Paul Bullen, regional medical director Dr Chris Tan and regional health director Ngaire Buchanan.

A representative of the aged care sector has yet to be appointed.
