New citizens welcomed in time for Australia Day

NEW AUSSIES: The Millicent citizenship ceremony was attended by Lara McCallum, Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll OAM and Maria Roose.

AN Australian citizenship ceremony to welcome two new citizens was recently held in the Millicent Gallery.

Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll OAM welcomed new citizen Lara McCallum, who was born in the United Kingdom and currently resides in Millicent.

Mr Noll also greeted Maria Roose, who was born in the Netherlands and is a resident of Rocky Camp.

Lara and her husband Chris are expecting the birth of her second child early this year.

Her mother Sanchia Franks, who lives in London, was present at the ceremony as she has come to Australia to welcome her newest grandchild.
