Truckloads of funds as city community groups together

HUGE SUCCESS: The Mount Gambier Truck Show committee was ecstatic with the success of the second annual show and are looking forward to continuing to raise money for important organisations in 2019.

SEVERAL community organisations received an early Christmas present this month when the Mount Gambier Family Truck Show committee donated more than $10,000.

Hundreds of people walked through the Mount Gambier Showground gates last month for the event, raising money to help small community organisations.

Many less fortunate children will be left with smiles this Christmas thanks to a large portion of the money raised going towards ac.care.

The funds were presented to the organisations at the Mount Gambier Community RSL, where committee member Tim Watt thanked the community for its ongoing support.

TIMELY DONATION: A large contribution of $4500 allowed ac.care to put smiles on the faces of less fortunate children at Christmas time. Mount Gambier Family Truck Show committee member Tim Watt made the presentation to ac.care’s Trish Spark.

“We are so lucky to be able to make such significant contributions thanks to the generous support from the local community,” Mr Watt said.

“As a committee, we are thrilled to be able to support these local organisations.

“It is our intent to continue to foster and grow our relationships within the local community.”

Having completed the second year of the event, committee secretary Michelle Nicholls said plans were already in place to make it bigger and better next year.

“We already have a date in mind for next year and we are excited for what the future of this event holds,” she said.
