Strong exam results for Tenison duo

TENISON Woods College students celebrated life-changing school achievements yesterday morning as they patiently awaited their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank results.

Penola residents Eliza Gordon and Alex Brodie were among those relieved to finally receive their scores, scoring 97.0 and 96.95 respectively.

Eliza said she enjoyed the year, finding a balance between studying, school involvement and a social life.

“Going into the year I was really worried that I was not going to have the social life,” Eliza said.

“I was apart of the school council, which allowed me input ideas for the school’s charity events.

“I was able to find a balance, which really helped.”

Eliza hopes to progress into a bachelor degree in medicine.

“I have already completed an interview with the University of Adelaide and have an interview for Monash University in January,” she said.

“Throughout the UMAT I did a lot of preparation, so I did quite well and was happy with my score.

“I think my sisters were a big help as they have done it all before and my friends showed massive support, which got me through.”

Alex plans to take a gap year while working at Wynn’s Estate in Coonawarra and in 2020 plans to proceed to university to study a double degree of ngineering and business at RMIT University in Melbourne.
