Sensitive Santa to arrive in city

FESTIVE SUPPORT: The Mount Gambier Marketplace will be hosting a Sensitive Santa session on December 23 from 8am until 9.30am to show support for children with special needs in the lead-up to Christmas.

THE Mount Gambier Marketplace is getting ready to roll out the red carpet when Santa Claus comes to town.

The complex will once again offer Sensitive Santa visits to show support for children with special needs throughout the lead-up to Christmas.

Sensitive Santa sessions give families with special needs children the opportunity to visit Santa in a low stress environment before general trade starts.

There will be no music, spotlights or queues and noise levels will be kept down during the private sessions.

“Having a photograph with Santa can be a difficult thing for families of children facing illness or other challenges, so we are offering them their own visit away from peak-hour groups, in a wheelchair and pram-friendly environment,” a Marketplace spokesperson said.

“Some of these children will be meeting Santa for the first time and the complex is thrilled to be able to give families such a memorable gift this festive season.”

Places are available throughout the free session before trading on December 23 from 8am until 9.30am.

Booking is essential for the 10 minute sessions.

Contact centre management during business hours on 8724 8798 to book your spot.
