MARY MacKillop Memorial School Year 7 students recently travelled to the nation’s capital to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
The group travelled with students from Tension Woods College and St Anthony’s to visit Canberra’s multiple attractions.
Highlights included the War Memorial visit and participating in the Remembrance Day service.
Students marvelled at the array of war relics and informative displays, enriching their studies about war during the year.
Visiting the National Art Gallery, Portrait Gallery, library, Old Parliament House and museum were also valuable experiences, offering students an insight into Australian heritage.
Students were also challenged, inspired and enlightened at Questacon – a science-based activity centre – and in awe of Parliament House, where they toured the House of Representatives and Senate and participated in a mock parliamentary session.
