City Council to host facility information night

MAJOR INVESTMENT: The ground floor design of the planned sport and recreation hub for Mount Gambier.

MOUNT Gambier City Council will host an information session at Mount Gambier City Hall tonight ahead of an elector survey which will decide the fate of the proposed multi-million dollar sport and recreation centre.

Council’s project team will present facts and figures about what could be the largest infrastructure project in the city’s history and will be available to answer any questions about the facility.

The community and recreation hub has secured a $15m commitment from the Federal Government, while council continues to lobby the State Government for matching funding.

The survey will be distributed to more than 19,000 electors later this month to determine community support for the project.

Community members are encouraged to attend the evening information session tonight from 7pm.
