PLAY was hard and the course was slow at the Beachport Golfing Club’s recent women’s club championship finals.
Constant drizzle was the cause of this, but it did not deter the competitors.
Played over 36 holes, the A Grade club champion was the consistent Robyn Walters, who defeated Sue Wheal 8-7 to take out the honours.
The B and C Grade finals were played over 27 holes, with Marilyn Bellinger taking out the title over Jan Green with a 5-4 result.
In C Grade, the result went down to the final hole in a thrilling match and Jillyann Herdman narrowly defeated Rita Mitchell 2-1.
