Judges ‘silently search’ for Penola’s garden of the year

BEST IN SHOW: The Penola garden of the year winner will be announced at this year’s show.

PENOLA’S garden of the year will be announced at this month’s show after a long period of deliberation by the judging panel.

The competition is open to all residents located in the Penola township, with is no nomination process.

The judging panel has been silently searching the community for gardens that fit the competition brief.

The two categories, garden of the year and newly established or renovated garden, are chosen from the view visible from the footpath with selections made any time during the year.

A $1000 cash prize is on offer for the garden of the year with a $500 voucher for the newly established or renovated garden winner.

The event hopes to encourage the community to spruce up their gardens to further beautify the township.

Winners will be announced at the Penola P.A. & H. Society Show which is held October 26 and 27.
