WOMEN in Business and Regional Development has announced the appointment of two new board members following their annual general meeting on Monday.

Business woman, entrepreneur and Country Arts SA marketing officer Caitlin Kennedy was elected to the board alongside Donna Foster, who will bring a wealth of experience following a career in various tourism and regional development roles.

Ms Foster will build on her existing local influence as Mount Gambier City Council’s tourism and economic development manager.

Long-standing board member Judy McKay resigned from the board after five years while deputy chair Tahlia Gabrielli also announced she would step away from the role after completing her four-year tenure.

“Both Judy and Tahlia have been pivotal in the growth and success of the WiBRD events over recent years and leave behind a legacy that will continue to be demonstrated in the accomplishments of the network,” chair Cathy Lunnay said.

Ms Lunnay recognised the achievements of the network over the past 12 months, including the development of a strategic plan and a continued focus on strengthening partnerships with businesses and members.

She acknowledged former executive officer Lydia Mules for her dedication to the network during her three years in the position.

Directly proceeding the annual general meeting WiBRD held a board meeting to elect roles for 2019.

The current board now comprises Cathy Lunnay, Jacinta Jones, Lauren Milich, Cathy Beckman, Di Ind, Donna Foster and Caitlin Kennedy.

Cathy Lunnay will continue in her role as chair, Jacinta Jones was again elected to the role of deputy chair and Lauren Milich will remain in the role of treasurer.

“I am excited to be involved with the continuous development and direction for Women in Business and Regional Development,” Ms Lunnay said.

“We have a great deal of experience, influence and energy in our board and I am looking forward to working with this incredible group of women.

“Now we have our board in place we will continue the process of clarifying our strategy to ensure the network has a clear focus and measurable outcomes that will support the empowerment of women in our community.”
