A FORMER Mount Gambier resident and a contestant on last year’s The Bachelor, Natalie Holmberg has revealed who she believes the Honey Badger will choose on tonight’s show.
“No-one,” she said.
“I have been told by some people that he does not end up picking anyone and he is pretty annoyed with the team at Channel Ten.”
If Natalie’s predicition is true, Nick Cummins will become the first bachelor to remain single at the conclusion of a season in the Australian format of the reality television show.
However, the rumour is unconfirmed and Natalie still encouraged viewers to tune-in to tonight’s finale to see if Sophie or Brittany wins his heart.
“If that is not the case – after watching last week’s episode – it might be Sophie because their sexual tension seemed pretty full-on,” Natalie said.
“They have done a pretty good job at keeping the result under wraps this year.”
Speaking about the current season, Natalie said she had enjoyed the entertainment the show has had to offer.
“It is way more entertaining when you do not know what will happen,” Natalie said.
“You can really develop a different perception of people if you do not actually know them.”
While Natalie revealed the production team did attempt to draw certain personality traits out of the girls on the show, everything that happens on camera is still genuine.
“At the end of the day it is real life, no-one puts words into anyone’s mouth,” she said.
However, Natalie said alcohol is a ploy used by producers to create entertaining scenarios.
She said Tarpeena resident Kayla Gray’s “pool stunt” was potentially an example of that.
“I remember in our season on the first night, they got us really drunk,” Natalie said.
“It may have been the same case in this season and someone would have told her to jump in the pool.”
Reflecting on her efforts to win Matty J’s heart in last year’s season, Natalie said being on The Bachelor was “quite stressful”.
“All we did was sit around and eat – we all gained weight as a result of being on the show,” she said.
“In saying that I have made some great friends from the show that I still keep in touch with.”
When asked if The Bachelor was a good platform for finding love, she offered a mixed response.
“I think around 50pc of couples have stayed together and some have had kids, so I guess that is a pretty good strike-rate,” Natalie said.
“I feel like they pick girls who are a bit unrealistic and have a sense of fantasy, whereas I was pretty realistic before going on the show that Matty J probably would not want some girl from Adelaide.”
