Majella uncorks back catalogue of ‘cab sav’ for special vertical tasting experience

READY AND WAITING: Majella winemakers Bruce Gregory and Michael Marcus are gearing up for the start of Coonawarra Cabernet Month.

ONCE a year Majella gives its loyal customers an opportunity to partake of something special, the annual celebration of the Coonawarra region’s most renowned wines, cabernet sauvignon – fondly known as “cab sav”.

Planted in the late 1960’s Majella’s cabernet sauvignon is estate-grown and has become highly sought after among wine lovers and collectors alike.

In October the public has the opportunity to try 10 years of Majella cabernet in an impressive vertical line up.

This is a unique opportunity to talk to the wine makers and meet the faces behind the label that is Majella.

Along with tasting the best of Coonawarra cabernet, Majella will cook up a storm with the famous Majella Dogs, a gourmet style Vienna sausage with toppings and if “Prof” gets time there may be his own recipe of pulled pork served as sliders.

Majella can be found in the heart of Coonawarra via V and A Lane just off the Riddoch Hwy.

The cellar door will be open from 10am through to 4.30pm and food is available until sold out.

Tastings are free, including the vertical line up and there will be great wine specials in the cellar door.

The cellar door is open seven days a week however the vertical event will be held one day only on October 13.
