CONSTRUCTION work on The Waterfront is starting to take shape at Port MacDonnell with the milestone development earmarked to be completed by early October.

While the completion date was foreshadowed to be in September, wet weather may cause delays.

A significant amount of civil works has already been completed, including timber, steel and concrete edging.

Ground work for the jetty plaza is already under way, as well as edging for new raised planter boxes.

Street furniture will be built on site and the bronze sculpture is expected to arrive mid September.

Grant District Council has been working behind the scenes with the Port MacDonnell Maritime Museum on tourism signage and images for the information shelter.

The shelter is expected to be one of the key features of the plaza space.
