Community fundraisers support Four Reasons Why

TIMEWARP: Four Reasons Why manager Trudi Shelton has joined forces with Blue Lake Golf Links Bar and Bistro manager Bill Burley to host a theme night to raise funds for the local charity. In addition, funds from a quiz night at Apollo Soccer Club will also be donated to the cause.

MOUNT Gambier charity Four Reasons Why (FRW) has banded together with community businesses to host two fundraising nights and raise money for the organisation.

The charity will use the money from each event to provide winter clothing, food, water and hygiene items to those in need across the South East.

A Timewarp fundraiser will be held on tonight at 7pm at the Blue Lake Golf Links Bar and Bistro, with the public invited to dress in the fashions of the 1960s, ’70s or ’80s and contribute to the cause.

A trivia night will also be held at Apollo Soccer Club on September 7 in conjunction with Stand By and Ruby’s Mount Gambier.

The night will recognise R U Ok? Day and raise funds for FRW.

FRW manager Trudi Shelton said she was overwhelmed with the support from both of the businesses.

“I am incredibly grateful to them for donating their time and effort into producing the two events for our charity,” she said.

“FRW started out small, but with the support of our community I have been able to create an amazing service for those in need.

“It makes me so proud to be part of our wonderful region.”

Blue Lake Golflinks Bar and Bistro manager Bill Burley said he was more than happy to support the cause.

“We need services like this in our community for those less fortunate,” he said.

“It is important to give back in small communities like this and I am proud to do my part.”
