WiBRD Hall of fame honours

MASQUERADE: Women in Business and Regional Development deputy chair Jacinta Jones and executive officer Shylie Harrison prepare for this Friday’s masquerade gala dinner at the Commodore on the Park.

WOMEN in Business and Regional Development will announce the 2018 inductees to the WiBRD Hall of Fame at a Masquerade Gala Dinner at the Commodore on the Park on Friday.

Initiated in 2016, the hall of fame has been developed to recognise and thank individuals for their contribution and influence towards WiBRD.

It is also a chance to reflect and celebrate how the network has evolved over the past 20 years.

WiBRD was the brain child of Elaine Pollock and was formed in 1998 with a vision to lead a series of inclusive networks for women in a supportive and professional environment.

The organisation now supports like-minded women to form relationships to enhance businesses by developing friendships and strategic alliances.

“The hall of fame is an opportunity for members to come together and celebrate the dedication and contribution of some incredible individuals,” WiBRD chair Cathy Lunnay said.

“These women have played a vital role in the sustainability of our network and it is our honour to recognise their time and use of resources that continue to empower the women of this region for over 20 years.”

The WiBRD Hall of Fame induction is conducted biannually at the August gala dinner in the alternate years to the influential women in business awards.

This year’s masquerade-themed dinner will feature guest entertainer Matt Tarrant – a magician, mentalist and former Australian Survivor star – and will include a two-course meal and live music by local band Sugar Loaf.

The masquerade dinner tickets are now on sale and are tipped to sell fast.

Attendees are encouraged to book early for the August 3 event.

Visit www.wibrd.org.au to purchase tickets.
