Duo ‘busted’ in Millicent

BUSTED: AJ Muriel and Mavis were “busted” in Millicent last week, promoting early breast cancer detection.

A BRIGHTLY painted pink bus was “busted” in Millicent last week conveying a simple, yet powerful message – “know your bodies, check your boobies, early detection wins”.

Owned by AJ Muriel and Mavis the “Busted Out” bus has been turning heads across Australia for the past five years.

Using their charismatic flair in their show, “Busted Out – Rockin Oz 4 a Cure”, the pair has managed to raise around $80,000 for breast cancer research.

AJ Muriel and Mavis do not charge the venues they perform at or ask an entry fee, which means all money raised is from donations.

Their comical, loud and quirky “Busted Out” show spreads the message of the importance of early breast cancer detection.

The pair was inspired to start fundraising after meeting people raising money for the Jane McGrath Foundation while they were touring the road with their act, combining covers and original songs and comedy,
