GRANT High School students will show off their culinary and musical skills tomorrow night in their latest food and music festival – Tasty Tunes @ The Railway Lands.
Creating a festival vibe with music performed by various year levels, works from media studies students and a range of street food stalls from different cultures, including Asian, Mexican and Australian made by Year 11 and 12 food and hospitality students, there is something for everyone.
Exposing students to a real life experience, arts and hospitality teacher Pariya Ziakas said they place emphasis on student-centred learning.
“Taking this event into the community means students are able to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in an open forum,” she said.
“This is about integrating curriculum areas and allowing students opportunities to work collaboratively.”
As well as showcasing the students’ talents, FunkyFlix face painting will be on offer and a range of wines, ciders and hot beverages available for purchase.
Grateful for the support of the community, Ms Ziakas said the event would not be possible without the generosity of others.
“I would like to thank this opportunity to thank everyone involved,” she said.
“It takes many extremely talented and dedicated individuals to make amazing events such as this happen.”
Tasty Tunes @ The Railway Lands will take place from 5pm with a gold coin donation for entry.
