VIBRANT NEW LOOK: Yahl Primary School year 7 student Brandon and reception student Anja model new polo shirts introduced to coincide with the school’s 150 year celebrations. Picture: BRITTANY DENTON

YAHL Primary School students sported vibrant new uniforms during the first week of the 2018 school year.

Principal Chris Morrison said the new-look polo shirts were introduced to coincide with the school’s 150-year celebrations.

“Students have a choice between a green with black shirt or black with green – whatever they feel most comfortable wearing,” Ms Morrison said.

“We think it is important for them to have that choice.”

She added the school’s new logo represented tradition while “embracing change and growth”.

“The logo combines the school house – synonymous with the school and its long history – and the walnut tree which represents growth and change,” Ms Morrison said.

The school will celebrate its milestone 150 years with a Yahl Under The Stars event in March.

“We wanted current students, parents and past students to be able to celebrate together,” Ms Morrison said.

“We will have a two course meal at our beautiful school grounds with entertainment by Juicy X.

“The date is set for Saturday, March 17, and tickets and table bookings are available through the school.”
