Prominent agencies merge to form ‘power house’

AGENCIES MERGE: Matt Kain and Marika Hart of Complete Real Estate and David Herbert of Herbert Real Estate meet with Bill DeGaris of DeGaris Lawyers to sign the paperwork and make official a merger between the two agencies. Picture: BRITTANY DENTON

A MERGER between two Mount Gambier real estate agencies will combine experience, enthusiasm and exceptional service.

Herbert Real Estate and Complete Real Estate will trade as Complete Real Estate in association with Herbert Commercial to deliver a broader range of services to clients.

The new business will bring a focused agency and “power house team” to the local real estate market according to Complete Real Estate founder Marika Hart.

“Complete has always been a strong agency in sales and property management and Herbert Real Estate a true leader since the 1950s,” Ms Hart said.

“It’s become obvious the business of real estate is wanting more from smaller agencies and that is why this merge will bring value.

“We understand our clients want a more personalised service in a fast paced industry and we can deliver that.”

Services will encompass sales of all types of property including residential, commercial and rural in addition to management of residential investment and commercial property.

Established by A.R.M Herbert in 1951, in its early years Herbert Real Estate sold rural bushland, subdivided residential land, collected rents for the SA Housing Trust and provided mortgage brokering and conveyancing.

From 1954 to 1957 the business traded as Herbert and Fimmell and from 1969 to 1972 as Herbert and Simpson.

David Herbert joined the business in 1966 and assumed control in 1957, developing the business broadly to include commercial sales and leasing.

Marika Hart and Matt Kain established Complete Real Estate in 2010.

The successful agency has grown rapidly, providing services in residential management and sales.

Mr Herbert said the combined teams looked forward to forging a continuation of quality business as a newly merged entity.

“As two strong independent agencies merge, our clients and the community will benefit,” Mr Herbert said.

“Having access to a range of resources we will now offer an overall superior real estate service.

“To complement real estate sales and property management, the Herbert Commercial division will have a dedicated team 100pc focused on commercial sales and leasing.”

Complete Real Estate in association with Herbert Commercial will contact existing clients in the coming weeks to confirm ongoing commitments and to answer any questions or queries.
