Penola Primary School shines at end of year concert

ENTERTAINING: Penola Primary School news readers Tom Moorhouse and Lucy Catlin during their end of year concert.

THE Penola community was entertained at a vibrant Penola Primary School end of year concert recently.

Students and staff displayed their talents with a number of engaging acts as the Year 7s were farewelled during a dazzling evening event.

Wombats wobbled and gigantic lollipops were licked as the Year F/1 classes performed their delightful songs.

Modern dances from the Year 4 and Year 5/6B classes were performed, while one Year 2/3 class sang “I’m a farmer and I grow it” in true country style.

One class impressively rapped out a hand-clap routine without a single mistake while another reviewed events from 2017 in a play.

The Year 7s had intermittent skits depicting the theme “Fairy Tales with iPhones”, with many interesting costume changes.

The choir performed two pieces,”Wake Me Up” and “Our Inspiration”, while the Year 7s spoke about their memories of primary school and aspirations for the future.

The evening finished with governing council representative Mark De Garis farewelling principal Paul Harmer, and presenting the Year 7s with their graduation certificates.

“It was truly a night of emotions, laughter, wonderment, memories and tears as we realised another year has passed,” Penola Primary School school services officer Michelle Barry said.
