A GENEROUS donation was made to the Mount Gambier Cancer Support Group last week with funds raised through The Border Watch’s annual breast cancer feature.

More than $700 was handed over on Friday to group chairperson Lorraine Musgrove as part of the newspaper’s ongoing contribution from the feature, which is published each year.

Highlighting services available to breast cancer patients, projects undertaken by local support groups and personal stories of battles with the disease, the feature helps to raise awareness and funds for those in the community.

Thankful for helping to highlight the disease that claims thousands of lives each year across the country, Ms Musgrove said there were many families in the region that needed support.

“The money will be used in whatever way it is needed to help those families through a difficult time, whether that be for medication or other necessities,” she said.

“Without support like this we would not be able to provide the assistance that we do and are very grateful.”
