MILLICENT showgoers will have to look to the skies to see one of the draw cards of this year’s event.
Ceduna-born pilot Chris Sperou will be performing daring aerial acrobatics on the evening of the first day and the afternoon of the second day.
His performance schedule is 6.30 to 7.30pm on November 3 and 1.30 to 2pm on November 4.
Mr Sperou is certain not to disappoint the crowds as his light aircraft spins through the air.
The decision to invite the 78-year-old to perform was made by the committee of the Millicent Agricultural, Horticultural and Pastoral Society.
Publicity officer Helen Cranage said the suggestion was made by new show society president Neville Copping.
“We were looking for a different attraction at our prime times,” Ms Cranage said.
“We have had good feedback since the appearances of Chris Sperou were announced.”
Mr Sperou was awarded an Order of Australia medal two years ago as part of the Queen’s Birthday honours.
The stunt pilot received the honour for service to aerobatic flying and for his many contributions to various charities and fundraisers.
Mr Sperou was a fisherman in Thevenard for three years before moving to Adelaide in 1956 and obtaining his pilot’s licence four years later.
He has been flying planes for more than 50 years and has won the Australian Aerobatic Championship 13 times and competed in five World Aerobatic Championships.
