Footy fever in the Blue Lake city

CELEBRATIONS: Noel Barr Toyota sales manager Adam Salmon gets ready for the AFL grand final this weekend with Gladigau Park Kindergarten students.

IT WAS grand final fever yesterday at Gladigau Park Kindergarten as students got their hands on a specially signed Adelaide Crows football.

Donated to the kindergarten by Noel Barr Toyota, the football is being auctioned to raise funds for the redevelopment of the facility’s outside area.

Dressed in their favourite teams colours, the students were full of excitement to show off the football before tomorrow’s big game.

“We were actually donated the football earlier this year, but thought we would hold onto it and see how the Crows went throughout the season,” kindergarten director Kylie Tull said.

“We didn’t really think they would do as well as they have so it is very exciting to see lots of people in the community eager to purchase the football.”

Always looking for ways to support the community, Noel Barr Toyota sales manager Adam Salmon said the company wanted to help in anyway it could.

“We thought donating a football would be a great way to do this – especially with the Adelaide Crows being a part of the grand final this weekend,” he said.

With the highest bid already at $650, Ms Tull said it was definitely the right time to start the auction.

“We only started it a few days ago so to have that amount of money already raised is just amazing,” she said.

“Plans for the nature play outside area have already been drawn up so we are well on our way to building a great new space for the kids.

“Hopefully the Crows will win this weekend and even more people will want to purchase the football.”

Call the kindergarten on 8725 9689 or search Gladigau Kindy footy fundraiser on Facebook to place your bid in the auction.
