THE new $29 million Bunnings Warehouse Mount Gambier was officially opened to provide locals with an even wider range of home improvement and outdoor living products.

The warehouse, which replaces the previous warehouse on Jubilee Highway West, is over 10,000 square metres in size and features a drive thru trade timber yard, nine kitchen displays, eight bathroom displays, an outdoor nursery, an indoor playground, D.I.Y. workshop area and a café.

Over 20 new team members joined existing team members who transferred from the previous store, with the warehouse now boasting more than 100 employees.

Bunnings Warehouse Mount Gambier complex manager Carol Lockwood said the team was excited to welcome the local community to the new store.

“Our team members have worked extremely hard to prepare the store for opening,” Ms Lockwood said.

“We look forward to continuing to help customers with their home improvement projects and providing free D.I.Y. Workshops for adults and kids.”

Mount Gambier residents are invited to join Bunnings team members in celebrating the Grand Opening over two weekends.

This Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 4pm family friendly activities will include a bungy run, jumping castle, face painting, top putt mini golf, popcorn, fairy floss and kids entertainers Minions Stewart and Kevin.

On Saturday and Sunday October 7 and 8 the fun will continue from 10am to 4pm with a jumping castle, face painting, popcorn and a special appearance from Peppa Pig.

Ms Lockwood said Bunnings Warehouse Mount Gambier will continue to actively support a wide range of local community groups and causes.

“We will support locals through hands on projects, fundraising initiatives, community workshops, product contributions and of course fundraising sausage sizzles,” she said.

The new Bunnings Warehouse Mount Gambier is located at 182-248 Penola Road Mount Gambier.
