Top tipster wins big

BIG WINNER: The Border Watch general manager Dennis Jackson congratulates the 2017 AFL Football Tipping competition winner Anthony Davison with HiTec Leading Appliances’ Rick Macera yesterday afternoon.

A COMPLETE kitchen renovation may be on the cards for this year’s AFL football tipping competition winner Anthony Davison.

In association with The Border Watch, long-standing naming rights sponsor HiTec Leading Appliances put up a great prize for this year’s annual AFL football tipping competition.

Mr Davison successfully tipped his way to winning a $3000 Kleenmaid voucher to be spent at the Mount Gambier HiTec Leading Appliances store.

The Kleenmaid brand features a wide range of home appliances with ovens, cooktops, dishwashers and washing machines just some of the options available.

Mr Davison was convinced his win was a fluke.

“I am not much of a tipster, so I am very lucky,” he said.

“Usually I get them all wrong, but I picked the right season to enter because it was a terrible year for the ‘real’ tipsters.”

He said he and his family were looking at building a new home or renovating their existing kitchen.

“This voucher will definitely come in handy with our plans down the track,” Mr Davison said.

Port MacDonnell man Darren Williams claimed second prize for his effort in the competition, walking away with a $1000 Sealink travel voucher.

Third place was awarded to Mount Gambier’s Luke Brooks, who won a $500 Sealink travel voucher.
