Home detention for disqualified driver

A MOUNT Gambier man who drove disqualified will serve a three month prison term on home detention after being sentenced in court on Wednesday.

Benjamin Rhys Rowe, 25, appeared unrepresented in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court to be sentenced for driving disqualified.

The prosecution said Rowe was stopped driving in the city at around 10.15am on June 19.

Checks revealed he was driving disqualified and the defendant said he was aware of the order.

Rowe told police he had just fixed the transmission in the vehicle and was testing it.
