Hit and run truck driver granted bail

A MOUNT Gambier man involved in a fatal hit and run collision near the Coorong on Thursday has been granted bail by the court.

Daniel Luke Barry, 37, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court charged with causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of driving without due care and one count of leaving the scene of an accident.

The prosecution alleged Barry was the driver of a truck, which struck a 60-year-old Victorian man on the Princes Highway, 50kms north of Kingston.

Paramedics rushed to the area, however were unable to save the man who died at the scene.
