EIGHT-year-old gelding Survived rewrote the history books with a brilliant five-length victory in yesterday’s $50,000 Scott Group of Companies Mount Gambier Gold Cup.

The Archie Alexander trained stayer thrashed his rivals over the final 200 metres to make it a hat-trick of local cup victories.

Top weight of 59 kilograms proved no problem for Survived when the challengers strived to gun him down at the dog-leg.
