‘Tiller’ death do them part

October 8 marked the start of a new journey for Kelly (nee Cawthorne) and Brad Tiller.

The pair wed in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends at Whistle Post Coonawarra.

After meeting online three years ago, the pair enjoyed their first date at Bahn Kubo.

After a few dates, Brad offered to make Kelly dinner at his place, and Kelly realised that she I had actually been to his house before, while it was being built, to look around.

It was clearly meant to be, as they realised before their first date that they had actually been friends on Facebook since 2012 and that his best friend was also a good friend of Kelly.

The proposal was an intimate, romantic gesture.

“I had told Brad I didn’t want to be proposed in front of a big crowd or anything,” Kelly said.

“I had no idea when he was going to do it.

“One night after I got home from work late he came out to the car and asked if I needed help with anything, which was weird because he never did that.

“He was kind of blocking me from coming into the kitchen.

“As I put my things down and entered the kitchen he gave me a bunch of flowers with a poem on it that said ‘In all the world there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world there is no love for you like mine’

“He then got down on one knee and said ‘You survived lockdown with me, do you think you could survive the rest of your life with me?’ Will you marry me? I obviously said yes!”

The day was beautifully put together, with ceremony and reception being held at Whistle Post Coonawarra.

Kelly’s dress was custom designed and and made by Bridal on Prospect in Adelaide, and featured many sparkle tulle layers and a heavily beaded bodice.

Each lace portion was meticulously placed and hand stitched.

The veil had part of her Mums wedding dressed hand stitched on the bottom.

The men donned outfits from County Grey, with the groom requesting shorts instead of pants, and bridesmaids looked stunning in champagne silk dresses from Mangoes.

Standing with the happy couple on the day was Maid of Honour Maggie Breen and bridesmaids Kelly Habner, Candice Merrett and Sallyanne McBain, best man, Joshua Braithwaite and groomsmen Robert Hein, Cameron Auld and Bradley Chant.

The flower girl was Kia Macdonald.

The pair took a short minimoon to Halls Gap, where they had their first holiday together, and will take their honeymoon to Port Douglas in January.
