OPTICAL retailer Specsavers is celebrating success after clinching the prominent award at the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Awards on Friday night.
Located on Commercial Street West, Specsavers grabbed the coveted outstanding retail business accolade in front of hundreds of people at the gala event.
Specsavers optometrist and co-owner Erica Johnston said yesterday the staff were thrilled and humbled to take out the prominent award.
“The award is a testament to our great team at Specsavers,” Ms Johnston said.
“It was an honour to win this award and be in the company of all the amazing local businesses which have won the award previously.”
She said the staff worked diligently “day in and day out” to provide excellent service to its clientele.
“It is lovely to be recognised by the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce.”
In other awards, Green Triangle Electronics staff member Angie Sugden was named the outstanding employee.
Outstanding young business leader of the year was awarded to Lisa Fyfe from F45 Training Mount Gambier.
Forestry company OneFortyOne was also thrown into the spotlight by winning the outstanding environment and sustainability category.
KaBoom Family Entertainment took out outstanding new business while Commodore on the Park was named the outstanding tourism/hospitality/accommodation winner.
Elders Real Estate was named the outstanding agribusiness, while the outstanding service industry was given to the University of South Australia Mount Gambier Campus.
Other awards announced included the outstanding small business category, which was given to Limestone Coast Sleep School.
Outstanding innovation category was awarded to Jolly Soles.
Green Triangle Electronics, Cosmopolitan Pizza and Pasta, Tony Bolton and Gambier Tile Centre were inducted into the chamber’s Hall of Fame.
