Kelly Fb TBW Newsgroup

SINCE joining the The Border Watch Newsgroup in 2017, media sales consultant Kelly Costin has quickly established herself as a friendly and hard working operator both in and outside of the company.

Kelly’s cheery disposition and strong work ethic, teamed with her extensive local knowledge has seen the Millicent-born sales consultant thrive in the newspaper’s fast-paced environment.

Born and bred in the South East, Kelly’s former work experience at Optus has greatly assisted her successes, which has seen her take care of most advertising features.

“When the opportunity to work at The Border Watch presented itself, I found the idea of working at the paper that I had grown up reading so interesting,” she said.

“When the job description was looking for someone to work in the sales department, I was instantly drawn to it as I knew it would entail working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment which is what I was used to with my previous position. ”

Recently celebrating her two-year anniversary with the company, Kelly said she enjoyed the opportunity to liaise with a range of people and industries throughout the region.

Kelly’s said her role sees her liaising with clients in Mount Gambier, as well as Penola, Coonawarra and Naracoorte,

“My favourite part of the job is being able to get out and meet so many new and interesting people,” she said.

“It is great to be able to help local businesses and it is really rewarding when their advertising campaigns make a difference.

“I also love that no two days are ever usually the same.

“As much as working to tight deadlines can be frustrating at times, it certainly keeps you on your toes and is really rewarding to see something come together.”

Outside of work, Kelly she said she enjoyed returning back to her hometown of Millicent and surrounding coastal areas.

“Growing up in Millicent, I always loved how close I was to the beach,” she said.

“Spending summers down in Beachport with family and friends was, and still is, one of my favourite things about the South East.”

Kelly said she particularly enjoyed spending her down time with partner Jamie, mum and dad, sister Melody and brother-in-law Bryce and cat Ollie.

“I am lucky enough to have the most supportive partner, family and friends,” she said.

“I try to spend a majority of my time with my friends and family.

“I especially love to travel and attend concerts whenever I can with my partner Jamie.”
