Festival’s ‘adopted son’ returns with partner in crime for Royal Oak show

BACK IN TOWN: Archer will return to the district to perform in Penola this month.

AFTER a successful tour of outback Western Australia, Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival’s “adopted son” Archer is returning to perform at The Royal Oak Hotel.

“Partner in crime” Matisse is along for the ride, playing violin and squeezebox.

Singing his old-style songs combined with witty storytelling, Archer is a true troubadour and never fails to entertain.

His love of the older community will see him also perform for the residents of Tandara Lodge.

Supporting Archer is well-known South East country songstress Leah Briggs.

She recently returned from Queensland to live in Penola and is a welcome addition to the night of music at the hotel.

The Royal Oak Hotel is under new ownership and management with Mary Harvey and John Rymill taking over the iconic venue and the show will be one of their first public events as they diversify the hospitality and entertainment offering in Penola.

The show will be held on Thursday, September 27, from 9pm with free entry.
