GRATEFUL for the community support he has received, Anvil Electronics business owner Chris Ind has celebrated 21 years in business.

Mr Ind said the business would not have made it this far without the help of the South East.

“If you do not go that extra mile for your customers every day then they will not keep coming back,” he said.

“Without customers, we obviously do not have a business, so we have a pretty keen focus on keeping them happy.

“Over the years we have changed and expanded our market to serve the needs of our community and I think that is what has kept us going.”

Anvil Electronics first opened on June 27, 1997, at the post office complex as a Dick Smith authorised stockist.

Originally in partnership with three others, Mr Ind eventually purchased their shares in the business and continued as the sole proprietor.

Over the years Anvil Electronics has been recognised and received accolades including both state and national stockist of the year through Dick Smith Electronics.

Eventually Anvil became an independent business rather than continuing as part of the Dick Smith family.

In 2012, Mr Ind relocated the store to Margaret Street, where it remains today.

Mr Ind said there were no plans to slow the business and he was excited for what the future holds.

“As the world changes, our business has changed too,” he said.

“We have so many opportunities to look forward to so we can not wait to see how the business has grown in another 10 or 20 years time.”
