HUSBAND and wife Richard and Nikki Kirkland are celebrating delivery of a brand new $16,500 Polaris Ranger UTV following the first draw in Bayer’s Year of the Grower promotion.
The Kirklands run a mixed farming business between Millicent and Lucindale on roughly 2000 hectares involving a lease of a further 250 hectares, broad bean and wheat crops and over 7500 sheep.
“The Kirklands could not believe they had won” Bayer’s commercial sales representative Craig Jackson said.
“It is really rewarding, not only to see the support for Bayer’s Year of the Grower promotion, but to see these great prizes going to hardworking people who fully deserve them.”
Ms Kirkland submitted the entry and Mr Kirkland thinks it is “bloody awesome” to win.
“The new Polaris was fitted out with some extras at my cost before it being delivered and we are already putting it to good use on the land,” Mr Kirkland said.
Millicent Farm Supplies recieved a $1000 EFTPOS Gift Card as it was the store where the winning Bayer crop protection product was purchased.
“We have already allocated $500 to the first ever Furner Speed Shear, which we are holding at the Furner Cricket Club on November 17,” Millicent Farm Supplies agronomist Tim Moyle said.
“It is great to put something back into the local community and if we get the support, we are hoping to make the speed shear an annual event.”
