HELPING HAND: Penola Lions Club members Graham Hinze and Gary Koch with the load of hay at Penola ready to be delivered to bushfire-affected Sherwood.

EARLIER this year, a devastating bushfire at Sherwood, 30km north west of Bordertown, killed 2000 stock and destroyed 12000ha of land.

Police later confirmed a faulty electric fence had caused the fire.

To assist in the recovery process, the Penola Lions Club has organised the delivery of a semi-trailer load of hay from Penola to farmers in the area.

On behalf of Penola Lions, Graham Hinze extended thanks to Koch Bros, which transported the hay free of charge to Sherwood.

“Special mention must also go to driver Gary Koch for the time and effort in ensuring the hay was delivered to those most in need,” Mr Hinze said.
