MUSICSA have recently announced nominations for the 2024 South Australian Music Awards are now open.

The awards aim to recognise those that have made a notable contribution to the South Australian music scene – whether they are a band, business or someone in between.

Acts of all genres are encouraged to nominate, with 33 categories to choose from across two streams: Industry Voted, which are judged by an independent panel of judges, and People’s Choice, which are voted on by the general public.

Last year, Mount Gambier/Berrin and Adelaide based rock band Stokes were nominated in the Industry Voted Award stream for Best Regional Artist and a People’s Choice Award for Best Rock Artist, and moved on to Best Rock Artists finalists.

The SA Music Awards are open to all artists who are residents of South Australia and are eligible if they spent a minimum of 75% of the year living in South Australia.

For song writing groups or bands, at least 50% of members must reside in South Australia or the artist must identify and promote themselves as being South Australian.

All applicants should be registered with APRA AMCOS / ONE MUSIC.

The awards will be held at Dom Polski Centre on Thursday November 7.
