KING of the High Cs will be performing at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre, celebrating the big three, Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras.

The show will be on next Monday after delays due to Covid-19 keeping it from visiting last year.

The cast is led by one of Australia’s finest tenors Roy Best, along with international soprano Alison Jones and is narrated by Christopher McKenna.

King of the High Cs will be performing songs made famous by three of the most successful tenors the world has ever known, mixed with comedy.

Mr Best is excited to bring the show to Mount Gambier.

“I have loved doing it, it has been an absolute highlight,” said Mr Best.

“It is fabulous to finally be coming to Mount Gambier, I have been looking forward to that.

“It is a great way to bring a bit of fun, joy, quality music and entertainment.”

Originally a car mechanic and racing car driver, Mr Best’s performing career started in 2006 in an unusual way after participating in an ABC show called Offer Opportunity Aus.

“There were three people chosen as finalists that got to perform at the Sydney Opera House to an audience of a million people, plus the crowd which was actually there which was a full house,” he said.

“It was not a bad way to start.”

Show narrator Christopher McKenna said he is hopeful the public will return to seeing live productions.

“We know people have been hesitant to return to theatres,” he said.

“It is a beautiful theatre, it is one of the best regional theatres in the country.

“It is safer sitting in a theatre than going to Coles or Woolworths.”
