A NEW exhibition will make its way to Gallery 54 next month featuring new work from emerging local artists following a combined workshop at the Artshed studio in Glencoe.
This eclectic collection seeks to showcase the power of group creativity and how it enriches lives while artists continue to grow in confidence in a group environment while also testing and experimenting with different drawing and painting media.
They also participated in making artistic decisions about their work and the directions it was taking while enjoying the opportunity to showcase some of their most successful work.
Artist Sue Foureur said from a young age she had wanted to become a graphic designer.
“Unfortunately life got in the way but at high school the only subject I reached an A level in was art while winning an interstate scholarship,” Ms Foureur said.
“Unfortunately, being so young, I was not able to follow my dream however I have always loved to draw and create.”
Fellow artist Debbie Prescott said she had experienced the emotions of an emerging artist including trepidation, excitement, surprise, relief and more as well as a growing sense of achievement.
The exhibition is scheduled to open on September 5 at 2pm with John Mossop attending as the opening speaker.
Bookings are essential for the opening through emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
