Toy Run raises $9000

FESTIVITY: Jerry Kroon and his grandson Miles joined the Limestone Coast Toy Run for the first time this year.

HUNDREDS joined Saturday’s motorcade across the region to raise $9000 to help purchase Christmas gifts for vulnerable Limestone Coast youth.

The Baptist Care SA annual Limestone Coast Toy Run featured over 250 vehicles with the cross-region tour ending with a parade through Mount Gambier before a community event at Mount Gambier Railway Lands.

“It’s been a tough year, which is why it was so fantastic to see the community pull together for such a good cause – to make sure that no child misses out on a Christmas gift,” Baptist Care SA regional manager John Merrett.

With over $3800 donated on the day, the funding will be used to purchase approximately 300 gifts for vulnerable youth in the region.

Over the following weeks, volunteers will be purchasing gifts and distributing them through local schools and community services agencies.

Baptist Care SA thanked major sponsor Roundwood Solutions and other businesses, volunteers and members of the public for providing ongoing support.
